Michael Bay, Mr. Bay. You are a sad, sad man. Oh No the world won't be blown to pieces, No duh! This is one of thousands of film were the world is threatend by a big astroid. Oh, and if you want to make yourself a 'diferent' director, you should have allowed the world to blow up, which would have been a shocker. It was stunning, but poorly acted, long, and repetetive. The only thing that made the movie 'Fair' was the amazing visuals and great soundtrak. Its direction made it snappy, but not quick and fun. I don't recomend it.

This movie is a little overhyped, but it's still pretty good. The concept alone is great, and although there have been numerous films about asteroids threatening to end life as we know it, this one at least has good special effects and some likeable characters.

Every single scene it seems. Fine actors like Steve and Billy Bob seem to be the only performers on target, despite the feeling one gets that the two were in need of pay day. Bruce is a bit stiff in his usual hero role. Good special effects and one unintentionally hilarious sequence after another makes this a fun bad film. NASA comes up with a plan to save the earth in less than a week. When was the last time any government agency worked that fast on a problem that big???

I cannot begin to explain in words how much I hated this movie. It's been a while since I watched it all the way through, but to tell you the truth, I've avoided seeing it all the way through again. Avoided like the plague. But I have seen bits and peices of it since then. One thing I noticed is that the director, Michael Bay, hasn't got the faintest idea where to point the g#!damn camera. When you're focusing on somebody who's speaking, you don't cut half of their damn face off!!! Another thing... The story is absolutely ridiculous. They land a spaceship on an astroid that's moving towards the earth some thousands of miles an hour. Yeah, right. My suspension of disbelief is pretty high, but the things that happen in this movie are SO ridiculous, that it just went completely over that line like it wasn't there at all. There are things that happen in this movie that God himself could not make so. I remember that they have some sort of vehicle in the movie, and they're driving it, and something goes wrong with something mounted on the outside of the vehicle. One of the astronauts goes out to fix it. I forget what happens, but for whatever reason the driver keeps going with the other astronaut hanging on outside fixing this thing. Then they come to this chasm in the asteroid that's some miles wide... AND THEY DECIDE TO JUMP IT!!! WITH THE GUY OUTSIDE STILL REPAIRING THIS THING THAT BROKE!!! Oh, and did I forget to mention that while they're jumping this chasm, the vehicle is FREAKING SPINNING!!! And the funniest part? THAY MAKE THE F!@#ING JUMP!!! IN FACT, THAT'S NOT FUNNY, THAT'S JUST F!@#ING STUPID!!! And the movie is FILLED with stupid, s!@#$y sequences like that... I pretty much hate it forever... This movie definetly, DEFINETLY got it's well earned place at the top my 'Least favorite movie' list. 'Armageddon' is complete and total crap from start to finish. I cannot remember a single redeeming quality about it. Hating 'Armageddon' will make you a healthier person.

I just caught this astonishing film again on cable, and I feel compelled to write a review. Now, I normally like to review movies by discussing various factors like the acting and story line, how well the different threads of the movie mesh together, and even how well the soundtrack further elucidates (or in some cases, detracts) from the movie itself. But instead, I think "Armageddon" can best be summed up by just one of the many gut-wrenching slow-motion sequences at the end. In this one, children who are supposedly living at the turn of the century learn about their planet narrowly avoiding destruction from an asteroid via--yup, you guessed it!--transitor radios, then celebrate by running out into the streets wearing 60s clothing and playing with boxcars near a mural of JFK. Since I don't think boxcars can be spontaneously produced via telekinesis, that means the children must have started building these boxcars several days before that, about the time that the entire planet first learned it was about to be pulverized by an asteroid. Because, you know, children do that. Jerry Bruckheimer should have paid ME to watch this!! And anyone who thinks he has a scrap of talent should be deported to Mississippi.

Armageddon was a movie that shocked me just because it showed extreme depth. It was a comedy, drama, and action movie rolled into one. What it did is it made us care about every character and the end could give anyone chills. You honestly, miss and remember the killed characters in the movie like they were your own friends which makes the movie extremely memorable. Billy Bob-Thorton and Bruce Willis gives an excellent performance. Overall a wonderful movie. Michael Bay's best...yes even better than the Rock.
